It Started with Gun Control. The UK’s Accelerating Police State Mentality.

From my perch over here in the United States, I find it interesting how the UK’s march from a normal society to a police-state/nanny-state embarrassment really started when they began banning guns.

Gun Control Works

Gun Control Works

Once the UK’ers gave up their rights to their guns, their ability to defend themselves quickly disappeared. Not only did they lack the defensive tools, but the emboldened Government quickly began outlawing knives and swords.

Amazingly, once these objects were outlawed, the Parliament codified the requirement for its citizens to cower, hide, and hope the police arrive during a home invasion, robbery, rape, or other ghastly acts. Heaven help you if you fight back - especially if you use a “weapon” of any means.

Bill O’Rites (Disenchanted Englishman who has watched this Nation fall into the clutches of the Bleeding Heart Tendency & the Nanny State) writes a great blog chronicling the items I’m discussing.

The latest “good news” from the UK revolves around their upcoming National ID Program. Seems they want to fine people who fail to tell the authorities of a change of address or amend other key personal details within three months. Fail to report and you will face civil penalty fines of up to £1,000 ($2,000) a time when the national identity card scheme is up and running.

Punishment for not having your papers in order? Reminds me of “Hogan’s Heroes” during Nazi Germany.

Problem is, the UK citizenry plays both parts:  They are the POW’s and the Germans.  It’s time to pick a side.
