What’s a fascist to do without Hollywood support? Seems that Hugo Chavez has plenty of friends in Tinseltown.
As American Director Oliver Stone tries to convince us (with his new Chavez film) that the U.S. media and government have demonised Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and other leftist South American leaders, Chavez will pull the plug on 29 more radio stations, just weeks after dozens of other outlets were closed in a media clampdown.
Chavez closed 34 radio stations in July, saying the government was “democratizing” media ownership. Critics say the move limits freedom of expression and has taken critical voices off the airwaves.
I’m so glad Mr. Stone is here to set the record straight! Those pesky privately owned radio stations are nothing but a nuisance and get in the way of state-run and state-controlled media outlets.
