How does one debate Nanny-State Liberal Crazies? How does the average UK citizen stand up to this upside-down Alice-in-Wonderland reality that they find themselves trapped in?
Per the Telegraph’s Reporting: (Our comments in bold.)
New advice published in Scouting, the official in-house magazine, says neither Scouts nor their parents should bring penknives to camp except in “specific” situations.
We are not talking about Cub Scouts mind you. These are older boys who have every right to carry this essential tool.
Today’s scouting movement had its origins in the mind of a 19th century English war hero and his desire to train soldiers to survive in the British Empire. Born in London in 1857, Robert Baden-Powell spent much of his life serving in the British cavalry in India, Europe and South Africa. Baden-Powell based the idea for a boy’s organization on his own experiences as a youngster in England and as a soldier in the British military. In 1907 he invited a group of twenty-one boys to attend the world’s first Boy Scout camp. For two weeks they lived in Army tents and were given instruction in camping skills, tracking, woodcraft, first aid, and the virtues of “honor, chivalry and good citizenship.” The success of the camp led him to write the first Boy Scout manual, called Scouting for Boys. It became an instant bestseller and within weeks Scout troops dotted the British Isles, eventually spreading across the Atlantic Ocean and throughout the world. (Hat tip to MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History.)
Scouts have traditionally been taught how to use knives correctly, using them on camping trips to cut firewood or carve tools.
At one point (This is a politically correct statement. It should read: From the INCEPTION of the Scouts up until a few years ago) Scouts were allowed to carry a sheath knife on their belt as part of their uniform although this is no longer the case.
In recent years (while Liberal Loons emasculated all males in the UK) the Scout Association guidance has been that parents should carry knives to camps or meetings.
Dave Budd, a knife-maker who runs courses training Scouts about the safe use of blades, wrote that the growing problem of knife crime meant action had to be taken. (What does knife crime have to do with the Boy Scouts? Their activities? Sorry Budd, but possessing a knife does not make one a gang member in the so-called “Gang Knife Culture” that you all have created by outlawing everything except for rocks.)
“Sadly, there is now confusion about when a Scout is allowed to carry a knife,” he wrote. “The series of high-profile fatal stabbings [has] highlighted a growing knife culture in the UK. (Budd is missing his God-given logic gene.)
“I think it is safest to assume that knives of any sort should not be carried by anybody to a Scout meeting or camp, unless there is likely to be a specific need for one. In that case, they should be kept by the Scout leaders and handed out as required.”
Troops leaders however have said the decision is “very sad”. Sheila Burgin, from 4th Sevenoaks Scout Group in Kent, said: “Scouts by law are allowed to have Swiss army knives. I think this is going too far – you just don’t know when a Scout will need a knife.
“It is also suggested that the leader keeps control of the knives when they go camping, but I think that is completely wrong. The first Scout Law is ‘The Scout is to be trusted’. Scouts love having knives and using them properly. There is nothing wrong with it.”
Miss Burgin, who offers lessons in carving using penknives, added: “If you teach children to use a knife properly they won’t abuse it. If someone wants to cause harm they will do it anyway. It is a real shame it has come to this.”
A Scouts spokesman said: “We believe that young people need more places to go after school and at weekends, where they can experience adventure without the threat of violence or bullying and the need to carry weapons. (Muffled scream from editor.)
“Scouting helps to prepare young people with valuable life skills, while keeping them safe by not carrying knives.” (When was the last time you tried to cut meat, make a fire, build a lean-too, cut twine, fabricate a project, widdle….without a knife? Learning valuable life skills INCLUDES responsibly owning and using a knife.)

Let’s look at the Boy Scout motto:
Be Prepared - (Except you can no longer learn how to shoot the bow and arrow, a BB gun, or possess a knife. If you need help, raid the Girl Scout camp next door and steal their knitting needles.)
So, while you ask your young men to pledge this oath:
On my honour, I promise that I will do my best,
To do my duty to God and to the Queen,
To help other people,
And to keep the Scout Law.
You are actually telling each one of them that their oath has no meaning. There is no honour. We don’t believe you will do your best. You have no duty to God and Queen. No helping other people. And don’t bother with Scout’s law.
You’re a violent knife wielding gang-cultured brat.
Welcome to Scouting in the UK!

Farewell my great and mighty Britain! I’m sure some of the Brits who read this are saying: “What’s the big deal?” “We really don’t want a knife culture!” “It’s much safer this way!” All of these questions prove Libertyaholic’s point. The UK has fallen.

@Drew – Agree 100%.
Take away a societies guns, they use knives, take away knives, they use bats, take away bats, they use rocks and on and on. Anyone else see a trend here? Issues of crime and violence are solved with better education, opportunity and quality of life for the people.
