What, Pelosi Worry?
•In the midst of our Great Recession, Nancy Pelosi sports a shiny new jet! Queen Pelosi wasn’t happy with her old jet. It was a USAF C-20B jet, Gulfstream III. I’d say: “Nice!” But Speaker of the House Pelosi couldn’t stand the fact that she had to stop and refuel on her very frequent jaunts across her “fly-over states.”
What is a Speaker to do? The Pelosi Grand Answer was to order a brand new 200-seat, USAF C-32, Boeing 757. To that I say: “Excess!”
So, back and forth she goes, flying between California and the Capitol. Cost? About $60,000 one way. Every week she flies out on Monday and returns on Friday. (At the minimum.) Estimates are that her “travel” costs taxpayers about $480,000 per month.
Tax my 401K, Madam Pelosi? I don’t think you have a moral leg to stand on.
Carbon Traders Charged in Fraud Case
•Who would have guessed? Oh! You mean “carbon trading” is fraudulent on more than it’s base level?
You better believe it. It’s just that this time, carbon trading ran afoul of European tax laws. You know, kind of like taking out a contract to kill someone and then having the assassin fail to pay taxes on his work.
The story goes something like this:
Three Britons and a Dutchman have been charged by Belgian authorities with money laundering in an investigation into fraudulent trading in carbon emissions permits.
The fraud occurs when carbon credits are bought and imported tax-free from other EU countries, then sold to domestic buyers, charging them value-added tax (VAT). The sellers then disappear without paying the tax to governments.
The three Britons were arrested at the end of 2009 in the Belgian town of Tournai as part of an investigation into transactions worth some 3 million euros ($NZ5.8 million).
A fourth suspect from the Netherlands was arrested on Sunday. Prosecutors would not disclose the names of those arrested.
It’s pretty obvious that the “governments” are keen on getting their share of the carbon trading scam.
Still not sure about Carbon Credits? Do a little research on Ken Lay and Enron.
Stoned and Broke in Sunny California
2 CommentsThe first step to legalize marijuana in California could happen Tuesday.
Lawmakers will vote on Assembly Bill 390 — legislation to tax and regulate marijuana. The assembly’s Public Safety Committee is expected to vote after a hearing that begins at 9 a.m. hearing in Sacramento.
The bill, authored by San Francisco Assemblyman Tom Ammiano, would essentially treat pot the same way alcohol is treated under the law and would allow adults over 21 to possess, smoke and grow marijuana.
1. The law would also call for a fee of $50 per ounce sold and would help fund drug eradication and awareness programs.
2. It could help pull California out of debt, supporters say, raising up to $990 million from the fees.
Really? So…what is it. Is the program to fund (how ironic) “drug eradication and awareness programs” or is it to make $$ to help deflate the state’s deficit?
Feel-good double-talk. California politicians are so good at it. (not.)
Iranianian Mamas: Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Nuclear Scientists
•Now is probably not a good time to be working on “Nuclear Projects” in Iran. You see, Iran’s top nuclear scientist Massoud Ali-Mohammadi was killed outside his home on his way to work.
Massoud Ali-Mohammadi, 50, was a respected Tehran University nuclear physicist. Iranian officials immediately blamed Israel and the West for the assassination. (Probably not so far fetched, I’d say.) But then again, Ali-Mohammadi may have been an unwitting participant in an Iranian false flag operation since he was known for his outspoken support for the current student movement. He was a vocal opponent to the Islamic Republic and openly criticized high-ranking officials. (That’s a sure way to get yourself killed in Iran.)
In addition to this death, Iran’s top diplomat last month accused the United States and Saudi Arabia of kidnapping nuclear scientist Shahram Amiri, who worked for Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization and disappeared during a summer religious pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia. (Ooops!)
Got a 401K? Guess Who Is Going to Bail out the Treasury Market
•The U.S. Treasury and Labor Departments will ask for public comment as soon as next week on ways to promote the conversion of 401(k) savings and Individual Retirement Accounts into annuities or other steady payment streams, according to Assistant Labor Secretary Phyllis C. Borzi and Deputy Assistant Treasury Secretary Mark Iwry, who are spearheading the effort.
The Market Ticker says: “it is an attempt to prevent the collapse of the Treasury market!“

A Bolivar of Broken Dreams
3 CommentsHugo Chavez rolls up his pants, takes off his shoes, and runs helter skelter into the surf of failure.
In case you haven’t heard, Chavez has devalued the Venezuelan Bolivar by 50%.
It is being reported that: “Venezuelans rushed to the shops on Saturday, fearful of price rises after a currency devaluation that will let President Hugo Chavez boost government spending ahead of an election but feeds opposition charges of economic mismanagement.”
His plan devalues the currency to 4.3 and 2.6 against the dollar, from a rate of 2.15 per dollar in place since 2005, giving the better rate for basic goods in an attempt to limit the impact of the measure on consumer prices.
Hasn’t anyone told Chavez that you can’t fool:
- Mother Nature
- Market Prices
Reuters has got the whole story if you can stomach it.
What is happening in Venezuela may float north and visit our shores in the not-so-distant future – what with Obama and the Congress being so fiscally responsible. (sic)
America Rising: An Open Letter to Democrat Politicians
•Video author’s note: “We elected you on a promise of hope and change. We regret it. In 2010, we are taking the country back. Blue collar democrats, independents, and conservatives. We love our country. We are proud of our founders. And we will fight to protect our traditions. We don’t want your revolution.”
Here We Go Again – Unexpectedly, unexpectedly
•You may recall my previous post on how I was getting so sick and tired of our Mainstream Media and our White House Leadership feigning “surprise” over and over again about the condition of our economy.
I made a mistake. I should have added: Economists.
Let’s step back just one day. Yesterday’s story:
“A US government report on Friday is expected to show the economy stopped shedding jobs last month for the first time since it fell into recession two years ago, easing a political weight on President Barack Obama.
A Reuters survey of 84 economists on Thursday forecast nonfarm payrolls would be flat in December after dropping by 11,000 in November, far fewer than in previous months.”
Let’s look at the story today. Today’s story:
Employers unexpectedly cut jobs in December.
ARGH! There’s that WORD again.
U.S. employers unexpectedly cut 85,000 jobs in December, cooling optimism on the labor market’s recovery and keeping pressure on President Barack Obama to find ways to spur job growth.
May I gently ask where these people are living? Again, someone please give these dunces a clue, a set of glasses, some common sense, a little insight, and a full tank of gas to get their sorry butts out into the real world. There is a whole lot of pain happening – but obviously – it’s a view that can’t be seen from the posh offices of our Universities or Government Offices.
Can Duct Tape Provide Liberty and Freedom?
•Duct tape ranks as my top two “do everything” items. The other item is WD-40.
So, I’m sure you are wondering how duct tape can provide liberty and freedom. Here’s your example of the day:
A private pilot was hired to take a fisherman on a fishing excursion in the Alaskan wilderness. Probably due to his haste and desire to get fishing, the fisherman left some of his bait inside the plane.
Being in bear country, you can imagine what happened next.
A bear smelled the bait and proceeded to destroy the plane.
The pilot used his radio and called another pilot to bring him 2 new tires, 3 cases of duct tape, and a supply of sheet plastic.
He repaired the plane and flew it home!
Freedom Success!
Question: Has the TSA Caused More Deaths than Terrorists?
•The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) was created as part of the Aviation and Transportation Security Act passed by the U.S. Congress and signed into law by President George W. Bush on November 19, 2001.
Since 2001, have Terrorists or the TSA been responsible for more passenger deaths?
It’s an honest question. It’s a question that I’ve been thinking about since that poor little Samoan baby died because someone at the TSA felt the entire family should be locked up for some unkown reason.
There was also that confused Polish immigrant that was tasered to death.
How many other stories are out there that have not been reported?
Now we have the specter of having to go through full body scanners which emit potent whole-body X-rays. Some fliers will be fried several times per day. Frequent fliers will be fried and cooked hundreds of times per year.
Sure, officials downplay the “nuke chutes” as harmless – but they are signing no guarantees because it has been shown that this ionizing radiation in the X-ray spectrum damages and mutates both chromosomal DNA and structural proteins in human cells.
- Men: Would you allow your pregnant wife to go through this machine?
- Women: Will you step through a whole body scanner with your unborn baby?
Bernanke Not Fit to Forecast
•Calling the recent financial crisis possibly the “worst in modern history,” Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said Sunday that tighter regulation and not interest rate hikes could have prevented the sharp downturn.
“Stronger regulation and supervision” of mortgage lenders “would have been a more effective and surgical approach to constraining the housing bubble than a general increase in interest rates,” said Bernanke, according to an advance copy of his speech to the American Economic Association’s annual meeting in Atlanta.
Really?
This man needs to be replaced. Let’s look at a brief history of Ben Bernanke and his ultra-dull capabilities as Fed Chairman:
Listening to CNBC Can Be Hazardous to your Financial Health
•CNBC was “Bubbly bubbly!” during the top of the bubble in 2007. And, if you recall, they were Wall Street apologists in 2008 when warning signs were everywhere. Their broadcasts continued to re-assure the mindless (their viewers) that all was well. The few who were warning of the impeding train wreck were labeled as doomsayers and disconnected with “The Street.”

Another Melamine-Tainted Milk Scandal in China
•New Tang Dynasty Television just reported that:
A new milk safety scandal has broken out in China.
Authorities in Shanghai have closed a dairy company and arrested three executives, after milk products were found to contain high levels of the toxic industrial chemical melamine.
According to the state-run Shanghai Daily, melamine was found in milk powder and condensed milk made by the Shanghai Panda Dairy Co. Ltd.
Shameful: More Toddlers, Young Children Given Antipsychotics
•BusinessWeek reported this week that:
“The rate of children aged 2 to 5 who are given antipsychotic medications has doubled in recent years, a new study has found.
Yet little is known about either the effectiveness or the safety of these powerful psychiatric medications in children this age, said researchers from Columbia University and Rutgers University, who looked at data on more than 1 million children with private health insurance.”
More disturbing is this tidbit:
“Presumably, only children with the most severe mental problems would be given the potent drugs. Yet, less than half of children on antipsychotics had received any mental health services, including a mental health assessment or treatment from a psychotherapist or psychiatrist, the study authors noted.”
With this little fact exposed to the daylight, are there any apologists out there willing to justify this?

The UK Reports: More ‘cannabis shops’ than Starbucks in Denver
•I find it amusing how the Brits pick up on the American culture better than the old “tired and true” mainstream media here in the states.
The telegraph.co.uk just reported that:
Denver has been named the ‘cannabis capital’ of America after it emerged that is has more “pot shops” than Starbucks coffee houses.
The city in Colorado has issued more than 300 licences for medical marijuana dispensaries, more than there are state schools or shops that can sell alcohol.
Lower the Bar? If you are Chicago Police Recruit, The Bar Has Been Removed
2 CommentsLiberalism as a mental disorder is brightly displayed here:
The Chicago Police Department is seriously considering scrapping the police entrance exam to bolster minority hiring, save millions on test preparation and avert costly legal battles that have dogged the exam process for decades, City Hall sources said Tuesday.
Most cities have police entrance exams — and for good reason, experts say.
“If you don’t give someone at least a reading comprehension test, can you just put them in and risk the possibility of having so many of them fail? That could get quite expensive,” Roberts said.
“We were getting people with 60 hours of college credit who were reading at a third-grade level. What do you think you’ll get if you have no screening process?”
Just imagine your next encounter with a Chicago cop:
Cop: “Wat yur name?
Me: “John Smith”
Cop: “How do u spel dat?
Wow. Welcome to Chicago.
Andrew Brietbart: Obama Took a Kid’s Surfboard Accident More Seriously than the Underwear Bomber
•Andrew pointed out that Obama took a kid’s surfboard accident in Hawaii more seriously than the underwear bomber over Detroit. When the kid got hurt, the president at least rushed home from the golf course.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
News Story:
BREAKING NEWS: Reports indicate President Obama suddenly left the golf course in Hawaii where he was playing a round of golf to return to his $9 million vacation estate where a “family friend” has reportedly been injured in a surfboard accident:
President Barack Obama has abruptly ended a round of golf and sped toward his family’s vacation home for what is being described as a “personal matter.” An ambulance was seen speeding toward their compound.
White House aides said the speedy departure and return to the president’s home was not a matter of national security or because of a threat to Obama’s safety.
Obama was playing golf when reporters who travel with him were quickly assembled for a return to the first family’s neighborhood.
Journalists saw an ambulance speed past with its lights on, heading toward the end of Obama’s street. The ambulance would have passed through a security checkpoint at the end of the street.
The TSA is Out of Control
•Award winning war correspondent Michael Yon was detained and handcuffed at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport Yesterday by Transportation Security Administration (TSA) personnel.
Mind you, you may be next.

•France to introduce new law banning ‘psychological violence’ in marriages.
France will become the first country in the world to ban ‘psychological violence’ within marriage later this year.
The new law, which would also apply to co-habiting couples, would see people getting criminal records for insulting their loved ones during domestic arguments.
Electronic tagging would be used on repeat offenders, according to the country’s prime minister, Francois Fillon, who announced the law.
Psychologist Anne Giraud said: ‘Squabbling couples will allege all kinds of things about each other, but they won’t necessarily be true.
‘The police are likely to be called out more and more when this law comes into force this year, but often it will be a case of one person’s word against the other.

Police use Drones to Spy on Americans

New Zealanders: Lenin (and UK Councils) Would Be Proud!
•As reported by Stuff.co.NZ:
New cyber-monitoring measures have been quietly introduced giving police and Security Intelligence Service officers the power to monitor all aspects of someone’s online life.
The measures are the largest expansion of police and SIS surveillance capabilities for decades, and mean that all mobile calls and texts, email, internet surfing and online shopping, chatting and social networking can be monitored anywhere in New Zealand.
Of course, as you read this blog post, you may be targeted as some kind of Liberty Nut that believes things like:
- Arbitrary power is most easily established on the ruins of liberty abused to licentiousness.
- Firearms are second only to the Constitution in importance; they are the peoples’ liberty’s teeth.
- Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.
- If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.
Who said the above “crazy” things? George Washington.
I wonder how long he would have lasted in NZ’s new Stasi Era.
White House Investigating Rogue Network of Moles?
•Griffin Tarpley has just reported that officials in the Obama White House are considering the possibility that the Christmas day attempt by Nigerian terrorist Umar Farouk Mutallab to blow up an airliner about to land in Detroit was deliberately and intentionally facilitated by unnamed networks inside the US intelligence community.
Tarpley went on to say: (sic)
Many of us have been wondering how and why there seemed to be an intentional sabotaging of US antiterrorist screening procedures. This would explain why Mutallab had been able to use his US visa, escape interrogation and special searches, and board his flight, even though he was wallpapered with every red flag in the annals of airport security.

Al-Qaeda IN BRITAIN Target British Soldiers Returning Home
One CommentThis is a major news story and I’m wondering if you, my dear readers, understand the implications of this current scenario.
From the Telegraph.co.uk:
When in our history have soldiers returned home only to be targeted for murder by the enemy in their own country?
Terrorism has indeed turned the rules upside-down.
